Another Bleeding Heart
Bleeding Heart, 5/4/08

Bleeding Hearts are just the coolest flower I think. What a perfect name for such an intricate blossom. Right now my spring garden is near its peak bloom and looking quite lovely. This is Coral Bells (Heuchera) on the left - one of my favorites. On the right are orange Parrot Tulips.

love your first photo the bleeding hearts… what lens are you using now?

  1. How utterly beautiful- well composed. I’ve never met these flowers before.

    Kind regards.

  2. Beautiful colors, Barrie! All our trees around here are leafing out now and everything is so green and colorful.

This post is quite the contrast from the icy waterfall….brrr!

Thanks Aries - I took them with my Nikkor 18-200 VR. Same lens, new camera. I upgraded from the D50 to the D300 recently.

    Thank you dontbesad and Scott.

  3. *sigh*…don’t you just love spring! I have been playing around with flower photography but my shots don’t come out nearly as good as yours do…you can almost smell them!

  4. My location in eastern Ontario won’t see bleeding hearts for quite a while yet. Our snow has just barely gone! It’s a beautiful shot.

Thanks Julie - don’t worry, spring will make it up there too. It was a little late coming here in Oregon.
