MeHi! My name is Barrie Brewer and this is my photography blog. I am becoming a photographer and I want to be good at it. My plan is to immerse myself in learning about photography on a daily basis. I thought keeping a blog might be a good way to keep myself focused on that.

When I started this blog, the majority of my posts were my Project 365 photos. The idea was to take one photo everyday. After eighty some days, that started to feel more like a chore than something I really wanted to keep up. Now I continue to take photos nearly everyday and I post the ones I like on my blog when I think they might be something of interest to other people.

I don’t know how this blog may evolve over time - or whether it will fizzle out. For now, I am using it as a way to stay focused on my learning. I may occasionally add some non-photography related things to it as well, who knows. Since you are here visiting, I hope you are finding something of use, or are at least enjoying looking at the photos.

I love hearing other people’s thoughts, so please leave a comment whenever the urge strikes.

Barrie when I hear you’re “learning to be a photographer” it just blows my mind. You, my friend, are an AMAZING photographer and I’m going to follow your journey in hopes that I can stop taking irrelevant crap pictures and finally figure out what I’m doing! If I could shoot just one of your outtakes, I’d consider it a major accomplishment!

I started a 365 days project but abandoned it on the 2nd day … typical for me … ha ha!!

Thanks Bob! You’re motivating me to do more posts!

  3. hi, barrie. from what i’ve seen of your work over on flickr, you’re certainly being modest when you say you’re ‘becoming’ a photographer. though i guess that is the attitude that births brilliant photography.

i just joined the 365 project for a similar reason - to immerse myself in photography.

Thank you Carol! How nice of you to visit.

  4. I thought about a 365 project where I would take a picture od the same subject from the same spot at the same time every day. There is a spectacular mountain range I drive past each morning but I have just never gotten around to it yet. I have taken a few(see mine at http://www.dotcomtucson.com/albums/Album22.htm), always had an interst since my uncle bought me my first camera as a child. Right now I concentrate on writing a novel to express my creative side. Check out my blog.
