Day 30
Belltower, 1/30/08

The First Congregational Church is a Portland Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located in the South Park Blocks in downtown Portland on the corner of SW Park and Madison, across from the Portland Art Museum. The church is known for its Venetian Gothic architecture and the red-roofed bell tower that can be seen from many parts of the city. Two 100′ towers were removed in a 1940s’ modernization, leaving only this 185′ central tower.
