Nothing, 2/23/08

I didn’t take a photo today.

I didn’t realize how big of a committment I was making when I decided to take a photo every single day. On some days I get stressed out about trying to get my daily shot. I sometimes find myself wandering around the house looking for something interesting to photograph at 11pm. You can just imagine how great those photos turn out! Then I get really frustrated that I don’t have a good photo to share.

I don’t want photography to become a chore and I fear that forcing myself to take a photo when I don’t have the time or inclination will do just that. Besides, I’ll just end up with crap photos that way.

So, today I decided that I will not stress out about getting my 365 photos in 365 days. I’m not quitting, but every now and then I may skip a day. So what if it takes me a little longer to reach my goal of 365 photos. I’d rather feel good about what I’m doing, have fun with it and be proud of what I end up with.

  1. I totally agree with you. Photography should be fun, not an additional stress in our daily lives. Life is stressful enough. For me, taking pictures has to be relaxing and gratifying.

  2. way to take a break, it is the journey after all
